Christmas time was coming... so that means Santa pictures. I was surprisingly excited to stand in the line I see ever year... thinking to myself I will never do that!! Never say Never! Cause there I was standing in that crazy line up waiting for a 5 second picture with Santa...
It was perfect... minus the fact she wouldn't keep her shoes on.
Christmas morning was here. I was pretty excited we sat down as a family and opened up our stockings before our busy day started. Skylar was in an extra happy mood that morning.... She must have know Santa had come
Now that our family morning was over it was time to pack up and drive all over town to see everybody! Both grandparents were thrilled to be able to spoil there first grandchild... and spoil they did :) That's what grandparents are for tho right?? So off to Colins parents house....We got there and the living room was full of gifts!! Skylar didn't know what to do... there was paper flying everywhere! So off she went to relax with Grandpa to open the rest of her goodies. I wasn't long before Grandpa was sleeping... which is nothing new :)
Poor girl had to read her new book all by herself.
After that crazy visit we packed up and then we were off to Nana and Papa's house... My mom had said NO Christmas this year. Now that we have a baby in the family it was time to spoil her and forget about us...lol Thanks mom!!! I looked under her tree and it was a sea of pink!!! So the fun of watching a 5 month old open presents began.... It was a very slow process. The last present to be opened (by my moms request) was in a perfect little box... when I opened it up it was a coat my mom had made...It had parts of the Owl missing and a random gray spots. Now my dad said it was a very tough time for my mom when she was making it... He always new when she messed up... A LOT of swearing always came from the living room :) But it was so cute and she was proud of herself...She couldn't wait to put it on!
Before we new it Christmas was over!!! And a New Year was just around the corner... and i couldn't wait :)

Home sweet home
After 4 LONG days in the hospital we were finally ready to go home. So we cleaned out the hospital room.... Well Colin did I was not much help. After 7 loads of flowers and gifts etc... We were off!!
Now I couldn't wait to start getting her room all ready... We didn't know what we were having so I had done nothing decorating wise. After a couple weeks of recovery I was ready to get my shop on :) and that I did!!! Her room was finally done... and I was thrilled!
And my favorite part is her picture wall...
I couldn't believe how fast the time was going by. She was 3 months old already and getting all dressed up for Halloween.
She made the cutest biker I had ever seen. Leather chaps and all :)
My life was changing everyday and I couldn't have been more excited for what was to come.

I knew my life was going to change
Here is a little history on my journey to becoming a mom :)
I will Never forget the day Colin and I decided it was time... time to add to our family! It is one of those things you ask yourself is it the "right" time? (is there ever a right time?) It is a huge decision, One of those decisions you just have to leap and wait for the net to catch you. So we sat there looking back at what our check list was... and the more we talked the more things felt like it was time. We were about 3 months away from our wedding in Mexico.... If the time was right it would happen.

I guess the time was right!!!
We were not even 2 weeks to our wedding when.... Clear Blue told me my future!!! I was PREGNANT!!!
As happy as I was the thoughts wouldn't stop running through my mind. Am I ready... Can I do this... Did i make a mistake... etc.... I sat there in shock! I never expected it to happen so soon.... and the WEDDING!!!
So Colin got home from work and I said to him "honey I need to talk to you" apparently he new what I was going to say.... He looked at me and said... Your pregnant!!!
So much for waiting till after the wedding.
So the Wedding was here we were flying to Mexico with 32 or our friends and family... NONE of them knowing I was pregnant!! (okay maybe 1 or 2 had an idea) How was I going to hide this?? I was tired... I was sick. But I did it!!! the first week with everybody was amazing I could have asked for a better day!
It only took us 10 years to get to this day.... Well worth the wait <3
So the first week was over and everybody was gone... We spent the next week on our honeymoon. Well if you wanna call it a honeymoon. I kept getting sicker and sicker and sicker.... NOT fun! I think we should get a do over on the honeymoon part :) After our week alone I was more then ready to go home....
So we got home and off to the doctor I went.... When the doctor walked in I knew what he was going to say "your pregnant" so we did some math, well he pulled out his little wheel of weeks... and the verdict was in I was already 8 1/2 weeks!!!
And then the real FUN began....
I made my first appointment with my mat doctor and the journey begins....
Jan 27, 2009 - 16 weeks approx.
I did not enjoy the belly part of being pregnant.. NOT going to lie!!! and it only got BIGGER!!!
July 6,2009- 40 weeks + 2day
Who knew I would go another 2 weeks!!! Dues date July 4th... Born July 19th :)
The day FINALLY arrived when the doctor said 'we are going to induce you'... I was not happy at first but I gave in... and we where off!!!
It was July 17th and Colin and I were going to bed... I started to cry thinking this could be our last night just the 2 of us. ( I was being induced in the morning) As happy as I was to get this baby out. I knew our lives were going to change it wasn't about us any more...
Saturday morning 10am off we go.... we had to stay for a couple hours but nothing happened so they said we could go. The doctor told me he would call me at 10 that night... if he didn't see me before that.
So now we wait.... and wait.... and wait!!! at about 4:30ish I started to feel some contractions.... let the labor begin! they were not very strong but they were about 5mins apart and lasting 30 sec or so.... so at 10 o'clock on the dot the phone rang and it was the doctor... he told me to try and get some sleep and to come in to the hospital first thing. GOOD LUCK on the sleep part!!! thanks doc :)
1:30am July 18th... I was up and in PAIN!! got up and had to pee surprise surprise...lol. That's when the craziness began. Well I guess I am in that 30% of women that's water breaks on its own.... I have heard women say how do you know when your water breaks... TRUST me you KNOW!!! So i woke Colin up and we were off to the hospital.... after a long labor and an hour or so of pushing I got the news that I did not wanna hear from my doctor. We have to do a C-section!!! I have never had surgery or seen on OR other then on T.V and I was scared!!! Colin got suited up and we were off in a hurry for an emergency C-section.... not long after we were in I remember hearing those 3 words.... It's a Girl!!! 7Lbs 6oz born 11:52pm. I was so thrilled I looked at Colin and fell in Love with him even more. After 4 hrs in recovery it was time to introduce Skylar Leigh Davison to her family.
Now we are a family of 3 :)
